A firefly lights up the skies of Kentucky, southern France and Brooklyn when darkness blankets the watersheds, alleys and streets. The single wisps of light allow our eyes to see that which is elusive. At Firefly Designs Africa * Asia we celebrate those “wisps of light” in our designs through the people who create them and the people who wear them.
We believe that political and cultural boundaries do not separate us – but instead motivate us to find common grounds and languages that encourage creative growth through our wearable art. It is not always easy, but we are committed. We are about building and sustaining our relationships to one another through laughter and tears; always finding a bridge. By staying small, we continue to work together as a community (since 2001) to promote cooperation and solutions socially, culturally and creatively.
